Once upon a time Malin Kundang and his family lived in the shore of sumatra island. Malin Kundang's fmaily was so poor, that his father left his family and went to a remote country to earn money. His mother worked hard instead of Malin Kundang's father. Malin Kundang was an intelligent and mischievous boy. He often caught his neighbor's chicken. Malin Kundang grew uo to be an adult and went on an adventure to change his family's fate like his father because his family's circumstances did not improve until then. He got on a ship with a captain who already had a successful experience. And he learned all about sailing from his colleague. He worked hard and at the end of the voyage he came to learn everything about sailing and trade. While trading with many places and going elsewhere, he was confronted by pirates and they took all the goods. Almost all of his colleagues were dead, but he was in a small wooden room so, he survived. He used the last spurt he had left to go to the village on the nearest shoreline. He was saved by the people who live there and the village was very prosperous. He worked hard in the village and eventually he earned enough money to have 1,000 servants under him. After he became rich, he asked a beautiful rich girl in the village to be his wife. After he married the girl, he went to his homeland. When Malin Kundang's mother recognized the grand ship's owner, her only son, she wept and asked him why he come so late. But she looked very lpoor, so he ignored his mother. The mother of Malin Kundang was very angry about it and prayed to the god to turn him into a stone if he Is her son. Then Malin Kundang turned into a stone.
If I an Malin Kundang, I will welcome my mother and I will hold a celebration to give her happiness.
I learned, "Don't abandon family. If you abandon your family, you will be punished."
